Food Preparation and Service
Our Dietary Aids assists in the preparation of meals, including washing and chopping vegetables, mixing ingredients, and cooking meals. They serve meals to clients, ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct client and that clients receive the correct diet.
Client Support
Our Dietary Aids assists clients with eating, including cutting food, opening packages, and providing assistance with feeding. They encourage clients to eat and drink and monitor client intake. If any concerns or issues arise with the client's eating or drinking, they report them to the healthcare team.
Kitchen Maintenance
Our Dietary Aids maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces. They assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels. They also participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that the kitchen is running efficiently and effectively.
Communication and Teamwork
Our Dietary Aids communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to meet client needs. They collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), to ensure that client care is coordinated and effective. They participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans.
Other Responsibilities
Our Dietary Aides participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices and regulations. They perform other duties as required, such as assisting with special events or projects.
